Personalized medication options for individualized care
Every patient is different. Compounded medications can provide customized strengths, dosage forms, combinations, and bases when commercially available products do not meet an individual patient’s needs. We work with patients and prescribers to prepare medications tailored to the prescribed therapy.
Areas we commonly support
Hormone therapy — Customized preparations involving estradiol, estriol, progesterone, testosterone, and other prescribed therapies.
Vulvovaginal preparations — Creams, gels, suppositories, and other dosage forms prepared for patient-specific needs.
Dermatologic preparations — Customized topical medications using selected strengths and bases.
Alternative dosage forms — Capsules, creams, gels, troches, suppositories, and other dosage forms when appropriate.
Combination preparations — Multiple prescribed ingredients may sometimes be combined into a single customized preparation when clinically appropriate.
Why compounding may be considered
A prescriber may choose a compounded medication when a patient needs a different strength, dosage form, route of administration, or base, or when certain inactive ingredients need to be avoided.
